- In repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name (Acts 2:38) and Spirit baptism (Acts 2:4).
- In living a dedicated, consecrated, and godly life (Romans 12:1-8).
- In the power of faith-filled prayer (Mark 11:24; James 5:14-18).
- In the practice of supporting God’s work (Malachi 3:10-12; II Corinthians 9:6-11).
- In the translation of the saints. (I Thessalonians 4:13-17).

Our Church
Christian Temple of Dallas was founded by Pastor John E. Owens, II, his wife and children and a small group of North Dallas residents. The first worship service was held Sunday, November 6, 1988 at the Dallas Marriott Park Central Hotel. The church became a Texas Non-Profit Corporation on October 13, 1989 under the name of Apostolic Community Church, Inc.

From November 6, 1988 through June 30, 1990, the church held worship services and Bible studies in the hotel while focusing on evangelism via recreational activities, door to door campaigns, and radio/newspaper advertisements. The church grew to an active membership of about 60.

The church moved to a lease facility at 7922 Northaven Road, Dallas on July 1, 1990 and worshiped there until December 31, 1997. The membership grew to about 100 at this location. The church relied on word-of-mouth advertising, good fellowship, and radio broadcasts to attract more people.

On December 29, 1997, the church name was changed to Christian Temple of Dallas, Inc.
They moved into a spacious facility at 3330 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas on January 1, 1998. Lady Rochelle founded Christian Temple Academy in the summer of 1998. The school occupied a significant portion of the church campus. Christian Temple reached a membership of about 175+ at this facility.

The church was recognized as a 501 (c) (3) organization by the IRS on September 24, 1998. Christian Temple partnered with other organizations to bring ministry and services to the community.

The church faced tremendous challenges from 2002 through 2006 due to a nationwide economic decline and due to the school district’s efforts to take their church property via eminent domain proceedings. The church reached agreement in court, and relocated to a temporary site on March 31, 2005.

Christian Temple held worship services at the Holiday Inn Select North Dallas for four years. The church used this opportunity to re-establish its evangelistic thrust, to provide ministry to professional groups, and to prepare for the move to their next church home.

Christian Temple of Dallas moved to its current facility at 1909 E. Shady Grove Road, Irving on August 31, 2009. At this point, the church also became known as Christian Temple Worship Center. This church faithfully continues the Lord’s work with a big heart for people and community.
